University Of Agriculture Makurdi Shut Down Indefinitely


The Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi Benue state was closed down indefinitely on Wednesday following protests and vandalization by students as a result of an accident that claimed the of life of a student and injured several others within the campus.

Vice chancellor of the university Richard Kimbir said senate would meet Thursday to take certain decisions the school was yet to quantify the extent of damage.
Pandemonium broke out Wednesday at the University of Agriculture Makurdi following an accident within the school premises that claimed a student and injured about fourteen others.
For Emmanuel Chinagorom, a four hundred level student of agricultural economics and extension department whose brother had earlier been admitted at the clinic things took a different dimension when protesting students stormed the institutions clinic and vandalized everything on their path, this led to the closure of the school.
Vice chancellor Richard Kimbir said senate would decide how long the break would last during its meeting scheduled to take place on Thursday.
Students were directed to vacate the campus before two pm on Wednesday and hand over all university property in their possession until further notice.
